This time we are organizing our Meets & Drinks at the Amstelkerk, which is located just across the canal from our new office.  The Amstelkerk was built in the 17th century, when the Heren-, Keizers- and Prinsengracht canals were dug out around the city center to cope with Amsterdam’s burgeoning population.

We invited Paul Morel, senior project leader of Stadsherstel (“Company for City Restoration”) who he will tell you about the 400 year of history of Amsterdam Canals and about the successful business model of Stadsherstel, that is operating also abroad.  Since its foundation in 1956, Stadsherstel Amsterdam has developed itself as a prominent restoration company for all kinds of monuments. It currently owns more than 500 historical houses, twenty larger monuments, including the Amstelkerk and industrial monuments such as pumping-stations and shipyards.
