[2017-10-11] DUJAT Update Seminar on IoT / Cyber security

Yesterday was the day the DUJAT Update Seminar on IoT/Cyber Security, co-organized with KPMG, JCC, NFIA, OMRON, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and amsterdam inbusiness took place in Amstelveen, and it was a big success! About 90 participants came to hear about the interesting topics.

We were honored to have Mr. Bas Eenhoorn, Mayor of Amstelveen, in our presence to give a speech. Mr. Hiroyuki Usui, CEO at Omron Europe B.V.,  then gave us a very interesting story and explanation about The Internet of Things applications by Omron, the opportunities and challenges, and I am sure we all very much enjoyed his presentation.

A whole other side of IoT was discussed by Ms. Marina Benassi of KPMG NL Advisory, who talked about the impact of EU regulations on the Internet of Things, after which we were directly confronted with the risks and dangers by Mr. Martijn Sprengers (also KPMG NL Advisory), who gave us a live hacking demonstration that blew us away. Last but not least, Mr. Damiano Bolzon, CEO at Security Matters B.V. gave an interesting testimonial.

All in all it was a very informative afternoon. We hope all participants enjoyed the seminar and learned from it!

Dear members of DUJAT,

We are pleased to invite you to the DUJAT Update Seminar on IOT/Cyber security, which is to be jointly organized in cooperation with KPMG, JCC, NFIA, OMRON, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and amsterdam inbusiness.

The Internet of Things (‘IoT’) is becoming predominant in our day-to-day lives involving an increasing number of objects ranging from industrial machine-to-machine communication to home automation and wearable computing devices. As society and companies rely on connected devices to make lives and processes better and easier, security must be considered from every aspect.

The seminar will provide insight in how industries do adopt IoT in their products as will be explained by Mr. Usui of Omron in his testimonial as well as how security is involved in developing and applying products and technology.
