[2018-10-25] Japan Meets Brabant – Sports & Technology

On Thursday the 25th of October, the 2nd edition of the Japan Meets Brabant took place, centered around the interesting theme Sports & Technology. Together with Brabant Development Agency (BOM), we went to Eindhoven, also known as the Brainport region of The Netherlands, where Technology in Sports & Health is one of the biggest topics in innovation in the city.

First, we visited The Holst Centre: an independent Research & Development center that develops (health & sports) technologies for wireless autonomous sensor technologies and flexible electronics, in an open innovation setting and in dedicated research trajectories.

Secondly we got to see the interesting technical side of swimming at InnoSportLab de Tongelreep: an intelligent swimming pool that uses measuring systems for all different concepts of swimming. For swimmers, coaches and devices.

Finally, we visited Fontys University of Sports for by Harmen Bijsterbosch (Manager InnoSportLab), who told us about the inovation for an active lifestyle for citizens.

Dujat would like to thank Brabant Development Agency (BOM) and Sports & Technology for the organization, and Holst Centre and InnoSportLab de Tongelreep for their hospitality, their interesting presentations and tours.
