Furukawa Rock Drill Europe BV (FRDE) is a 100% FURUKAWA owned marketing company for both the domestic and world markets. The company is responsible for products of FURUKAWA Construction and Mining Machinery for both the domestic and world markets. The one and a quarter century old history of FURUKAWA goes back to 1875, when founder-owner FURUKAWA Ichibei opened a copper mine at Asakura. FURUKAWA experience with machinery dates back to 1887, a decade after the founding, when the first air operated impact tool replaced hammer and chisel drilling.
