[2022-07-07] Cultural Japan-Day Leiden: SieboldHuis & Volkenkunde

We are pleased to invite you to join us in Leiden for a cultural experience where we will visit not one but two of our members: Japan Museum SieboldHuis and Museum Volkenkunde. The event will take place on Thursday 7 July.

The programme will start with a welcome and drinks at Japan Museum SieboldHuis, which houses the most beautiful objects from Japan behind a Dutch historic facade. After a short introduction and a visit to the special exhibition “Shin hanga. New prints from Japan”, we will walk to Museum Volkenkunde which is located nearby.

At Museum Volkenkunde we will see the beautifully restored folding screen, “View of Deshima in Nagasaki Bay” by Kawahara Keiga. They will also give a short presentation about the recent developments, as well as a tour. The event will be concluded with a networking reception.
