We are pleased to invite you to join our upcoming agrifood webinar “Sustainable Food Systems: how could Japan and the Netherlands create this?” which will take place on 6 October from 9:00 (CEST) / 16:00 JST.
After opening remarks by Atsushi Yasutake, President & CEO at Norinchukin Bank Europe N.V. and Board Member of Dujat, we will start with a presentation about the Dutch Nitrogen Crisis by Rick Tervoort from the Corporate Banking Division at Norinchukin Bank Europe N.V. He will explain about the background and recent developments of this crisis.
We will then hear about alternative proteins in a presentation by Jurgen Sonneborn – Senior Project Manager Food at Oost NL / East Netherlands Development Agency. What is going on the Netherlands in the field of alternative proteins. To meet with environmental and societal needs, alternative protein sources need to be developed next to animal-based meat, dairy, fish, and eggs. The Netherlands is a global frontrunner in the alternative protein sector, an expert in the field of agri-food, sustainability, and knowledge sharing. How can Japan and the Netherlands work together in this Protein Shift?
After Oost NL, Ugur Pekdemir, Director at Rabobank will give a perspective from Dutch banks in his presentation “Growing a better world; Towards a more sustainable food and agricultural sector – from farm to fork”.
Lastly, EY will present international and Dutch Agrifood trends in view of M&A which attract Japanese investment in the Netherlands.
At the end of the webinar, Hans Kuijpers, Board Member of Dujat and Director Investment Projects & Investor Climate of NFIA, will give a few closing remarks.
This webinar will give you an update about the situation in the Netherlands as well as dive into future opportunities. At the same time it will briefly introduce the seminar we will organize on 19 May 2023 at Norinchukin Bank in Tokyo.
