[2019-07-04] Cool Japan Event

Yesterday, the Cool Japan Event took place at Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam. We would like to thank everyone for joining us on this cultural tour, and of course many special thanks go to the museum for hosting this event, and Daan Kok, Curator Japan & Korea, for the interesting presentation and Japanese tour.

We hope everyone enjoyed the event and had a refreshing view of the Japanese popculture through modern and traditional art, and we look forward to hopefully see you at our next event soon: The Dujat Showcase.

Dear members of Dujat,

Last year, The National Museum of World Cultures joined Dujat as a new member, and we are proud to announce our first joint event at the famous Cool Japan Exhibition. The event will take place on July 4th at Tropenmuseum in Amsterdam.

Cool Japan showcases the world’s fascination with all things Japanese. From Hello Kitty to samurai and from well-known Japanese horror to kawaii (‘cute’) fashion from the streets of Tokyo. After attracting record crowds to Leiden’s Volkenkunde Museum last year, the exhibition has been revamped and is now on display in Amsterdam.

The museum is happy to open its doors for Dujat members, and will show you around this wonderful exhibition with an exclusive tour in English/Japanese.

Date: Thursday July 4th

Time: 17:00 – 19:00

Location: Tropenmuseum (Registration & Reception at Café de Tropen, entrance at Mauritskade 64, 1092 AD Amsterdam)
