The Order of Orange-Nassau of the Kingdom of the Netherlands

Mr. Takeo Nishitani, Representative in Japan for the Dutch & Japanese Trade Federation (DUJAT),
appointed Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Mr. Takeo Nishitani, Representative in Japan for the Dutch & Japanese Trade Federation and Representative Director and Chairman of Weber Shandwick Japan Office., was appointed Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau. On the occasion of DUJAT’s annual Advisory Board reception, the award ceremony was held at the official residence of H.E. Mr. Radinck Jan Van Vollenhoven, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Japan on the evening of 25 September 2014. Ambassador Van Vollenhoven conferred the high distinction on Mr. Nishitani on behalf of His Majesty King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands.

Mr. Nishitani was awarded the decoration as a sign of appreciation for his contribution to the relations between the Netherlands and Japan, especially in the fields of economy and trade; he lived and worked in the Netherlands already as of 1966 promoting Japanese inward direct investment and tourism for the Amsterdam Promotion Foundation and Amsterdam Tourist Office respectively. As of 1984 he has been a Board member of DUJAT, for which he became representative in 2010. During his whole career, he has been an avid supporter of the economic ties between the Netherlands and Japan.

 

On September 25, 2014, DUJAT also celebrated its 30th anniversary, providing an excellent opportunity for the Netherlands government to express its appreciation for Mr. Nishitani’s great contribution to the Dutch – Japanese relations.
