Yesterday we celebrated the start of 2026 together with many members and relations in our Dutch-Japanese community, at Museum Cobra in Amstelveen.
It was an honor to give the floor to H.E. Mr. Rokuichiro Michii, Ambassador of Japan to the Netherlands, Mr. Tjapko Poppens, Mayor of the City of Amstelveen, Mr. Ryusuke Haga, Chairman of JCC, and Ms. Suzanne Wallinga, General Director of Museum Cobra for their speeches and a joint ‘kampai!’ to the new year.

With an impressive and interactive art exhibition of The Cyclops at Museum Cobra, delicious sushi catering from Flying Fish Nakamura, and many new meetings and reunions, we were pleased to kick off 2026 with this reception and look forward to many more events to come.

It is our pleasure to invite you for a New Year’s Reception on Monday 26 January, at Museum Cobra in Amstelveen. We would be delighted to have a ‘kampai’ (toast) to the new year with you.
For this event we are very honored that we can welcome H.E. The formal part will be concluded with closing remarks by Ms. Suzanne Wallinga, General Director of Museum Cobra.
During the networking reception, guests are invited to explore the ground floor exhibition The Cyclops at Museum Cobra. A dynamic exhibition that encourages movement in both a literal and figurative sense.
