[2022-06-08] Meets & Drinks at Mauritshuis

On Wednesday 8 June, we visited the beautiful Mauritshuis in The Hague, which celebrates its 200th anniversary this year, and displays the exhibition FLASH | BACK since last week.

It was our honor to welcome H.E. Mr. Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan, together with his wife to this event, and Mr. Jan van Zanen, Mayor of The Hague. We would like to thank both for their attendance and for delivering wonderful speeches. We were also honored that Mr. Tjapko Poppens, Mayor of Amstelveen joined us this afternoon.

We extend our warmest thanks to the Mauritshuis for hosting us, and to our members for their attendance. ありがとうございます!

FLASH | BACK

New masters x old masters

1 June – 16 October 2022

What happens when new masters pick up where old masters left off? Find out in our photography exhibition FLASH | BACK. Sixteen leading photographers – including Erwin Olaf, Rineke Dijkstra and Anton Corbijn – have created new work inspired by the 17th-century paintings in our collection.

The result is 16 photographs, one for each room in the Mauritshuis. The new works will be displayed alongside the 17th-century works that inspired them. Once you have seen these modern masterpieces, you will never look at Rembrandt, Vermeer or Steen in the same way.

This event is for Dujat members and invitees only.
If your company is member of Dujat and you did not receive the invitation, please contact our office.

We are pleased to invite you to attend the Dujat Meets & Drinks event at the Mauritshuis on Wednesday 8 June. The Mauritshuis is located in the centre of The Hague, the historical and political heart of the Netherlands. A small world-class museum with a formidable collection of Dutch and Flemish paintings from the 17th century; the golden age of this type of art.

The museum consists of two striking historical buildings: the Mauritshuis, a city palace on the Plein in The Hague and the Prince William V Gallery at the Buitenhof. In the Mauritshuis, you’ll discover iconic masterpieces, such as the Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer and the Anatomy Lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt, which attract hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world to the museum every year.

The moment you enter the Mauritshuis, you start experiencing the love for these old masters, and the drive to share the history and stories behind them in a modern and inspiring way with a broad and diverse audience.

200 years of inspiration

In 2022, it will be 200 years since the Mauritshuis—once built as a residence for Count Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen—became a museum. That calls for celebration! With spectacular exhibitions, an art battle for students and a magnificent anniversary book.
