It was our pleasure to organize the annual Dujat December Dinner last night. With the 425th Anniversary of Japan-Netherlands exchange and many successful collaborations at this year’s World Expo in Osaka, this was a really important and special year for Dutch-Japanese relations, and we were delighted to celebrate this together at Hotel Okura Amsterdam.
We were very honored and privileged to welcome Ambassador-designate of Japan, H.E. Mr. Rokuichiro Michii, who only just arrived in the Netherlands on the same day.

After a Taiko opening performance, followed by words of welcome from our chairman Mr. Luc Houben, Mr. Daisuke Nakano, chargé d’affaires of the embassy of Japan, gave a wonderful speech, highlighting the importance of Dutch-Japanese relations.

For the second part of the programme, we first gave the floor to Mr. Tjerk Opmeer, Deputy Director-General for Business & Innovation at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, and could then welcome Ms. Hilde van de Meer, Commissioner of NFIA, for the award ceremony of the Deshima Netherlands Awards 2025, which were awarded to Toray Advanced Composites and Nikon BioImaging Lab. Congratulations!
Also congratulations to the other nominated companies in the category ‘well-established’, Certis Belchim and MN Seafood Connection, and to JCR Europe and Sumitomo Heavy Industries in the category ‘newcomer’.
After the awards, the dinner was concluded with a dessert buffet and a networking reception. Many thanks to all who joined this event and we hope to welcome you again next year!
