amsterdam inbusiness (the cities of Amstelveen, Amsterdam, Almere, Haarlemmermeer), the Embassy of Japan, Dujat, the Japan Women’s Club and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Netherlands are pleased to invite you and your family to celebrate the Cherry Blossom festival.

Date 7th April
Time: 11:00 -17.00 hrs

The annual Cherry Blossom Festival in Amstelveen is being organized for the 17th time. In the year 2001, 400 cherry blossom trees were donated by the Japanese community to the municipality of Amstelveen. This beautifull trees are now the surroundings for a great annual event.

In Japan it is an ancient tradition of going to the park to enjoy the blooming of cherry blossoms (sakura).
The blossom-viewing is accompanied with a picnic under the trees. People bring home-cooked meals or buy take-out food to mark the occasion.

In line with this tradition there are several Japanese food stalls with delicious traditional Japanese food and different Japanese entertainment during the Cherry Blossom Festival. View the programme for more information.

This event is invitation-only, so please let us know if you are a Dujat member and have not received an invitation. We look forward to see you at this beautiful and hopefully sunny event!

After 13:00 the festival opens for the public and everyone can enter!
