We are delighted to invite you to an exclusive afternoon at the Royal Delft Museum on Thursday 21 May, a place where centuries-old craftsmanship, living heritage and creativity come together.
Since 1653, Royal Delft has been the home of iconic Delft Blue. What began as one of the original Delft Blue factories has grown into a unique location where the factory and the museum collection exist side by side. Every day, craftsmen continue the art of Delft Blue by hand, preserving techniques passed down through generations, while reimagining them for today.
During this special afternoon, you will experience Royal Delft beyond the museum halls. Discover the heart of Royal Delft: the factory where our master painters work, hear the stories behind the heritage, and gain insight into how we honour tradition while embracing new forms of Delft Blue and innovation.
Royal Delft & Japan
Royal Delft’s relationship with Japan is grounded in a long history of trade and craftsmanship, where cultural exchange and economic connection have gone hand in hand.
The influence of Japanese porcelain played a key role in the development of Delft Blue, while ongoing collaboration continues to strengthen ties between both countries. This enduring relationship highlights the power of cultural exchange and forms a natural foundation for bringing Dutch and Japanese partners together.
