The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra (NedPho|NKO) are two orchestras in one organisation, each with their own artistic profile. The Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra have been the primary orchestral partners of De Nationale Opera for more than thirty years. The orchestras are counted among the best opera orchestras in the world; The Concertgebouw in Amsterdam is the main stage for the orchestra’s concerts.
In addition to the programs with chief conductor Lorenzo Viotti and Gordan Nicolić (musical director of the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra), there is collaboration with both internationally renowned guest conductors and soloists and representatives of a new generation of top musicians. On many different stages, both orchestras bring people together through music. They give the most beautiful experience for both classical connoisseurs and new listeners. With the hospitable home hall, the NedPhO-Koepel in Amsterdam’s Indische buurt, the orchestras are at the heart of society in order to make classical music accessible to everyone who is open to it.
