URBANBERRY DESIGN is an architectural design studio that creates three-dimensional spaces exploring the dynamic relationships between people, objects, and environments.

With a strong emphasis on dialogue and environmental responsibility, the studio delivers innovative and playful design solutions that incorporate emerging technologies and sustainable principles.

Operating in both the Netherlands and Japan, URBANBERRY DESIGN has contributed to international expositions such as Floriade EXPO 2022, where it served as the local architect for the Japanese Pavilion. For the upcoming Osaka EXPO, the studio was awarded second prize for its proposal for the Dutch Pavilion.

Our design expertise supports a range of Dutch organizations, including Schiphol Airport, Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands, and partners within the creative industry.

Founder Yukiko Nezu is currently authoring a book titled “Amsterdam – A Bottom-Up Experimental City”, which explores empathetic design, urban development, the circular economy, sustainability, community-driven design, public space, education, and everyday life in Amsterdam. The book is scheduled for release in Japan this summer.
