International School of Amsterdam (ISA) is happy to report that their Week in the Workplace is starting again on 5 June, 2023. This year, they want to build on the success of last year and provide experiences that will help their students develop their minds, their character and contribute to our community and, through working with experienced professionals, better understand potential pathways and opportunities within a particular career field or in social entrepreneurialism.
They are looking for companies that are able to supervise 1 (or more) students from 5-8 June 2023. Please let them know by filling out this form if you are available to host student-interns during this time period. For your reference, please find a full overview of the WitW programme here.
ISA’s Week in the Workplace program is designed to provide our students with an opportunity to spend a week gaining valuable real-life work experience within a specific field of their choice. Our hope is that by gaining work experience in a field students are interested in, they will learn valuable life lessons that will impact their university choices and prospective career. We truly believe that students learn as much from outside the classroom as within!
Who: ISA grade 10 students in partnership with a local business or organisation.
What: A volunteer ‘work study’ job shadowing experience that gives students a chance to participate in an authentic work environment. Students will be working towards this placement throughout the academic year and will be expected to reflect daily on their experiences in order to share their learning and experience with their class.
When: 5-8 June, 2023 (normal business hours or as directed by host company)
Why: Today’s students need to develop and experience the ‘real world’ to assist in making important decisions and to witness and reflect on what skills and attributes are necessary to become a working professional.
