Frans de Beaufort appointed Honorary Consul General of Japan.

Amsterdam, 2 September – Frans de Beaufort, is appointed Honorary Consul-General of Japan for “Noord-Holland”.

Frans de Beaufort gained his experience of Japanese culture and business during his five years as Chairman of Aegon Sony Life Company in Tokyo. He has also been Chairman of the
Supervisory Board of Hotel Okura Amsterdam since 2016. He currently works as Global Head of Corporate Sustainability of Aegon Group.

“I am very honoured with this appointment. With enthusiasm and passion, I will continue to work to strengthen the business and cultural ties between the Netherlands and Japan,” says Frans. The consulate of Japan for the province of North Holland will be in the Okura Hotel in Amsterdam as of August 1.
