This foundation was established with an aim to raise awareness about the life and work of Felix Tikotin(1893-1986). Tikotin was a Jewish art dealer who was born in Germany. He specialized in Japanese art in the 1920s and had influence on the popularity of Japanese art and culture in Europe. At the same time, his life illustrates the (Jewish) history of the 20th century. Although he served as officer in the German army during WWI, he had to evacuate from Germany in 1933 due Nazi persecution. The Foundation is seeking support and sponsors for an upcoming documentary, a publication and an exhibition in 2012, which will also aid to promote the Japanese-Dutch cultural relations
