Last night we were proud and honored to organize this year’s Dujat December Dinner at Hotel Okura Amsterdam for a record number of over 500 guests, celebrating the strong relationship between the Netherlands and Japan.
After an opening speech by our chairman Luc Houben, it was our pleasure to welcome H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Minami, Ambassador of Japan on the stage to give his speech. We then could invite Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands on the stage for a joint ‘kampai’.
Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands then gave a speech about her deep connection with Japan and most of all zoomed in on the Japanese philosophy of ‘kintsugi’.
Our third guest speaker Mr. Boudewijn Siemons, CEO of Port of Rotterdam, gave our audience a detailed update about the importance of Rotterdam as an an energy port for Europe, about energy transition, and their collaborations with other companies, such as the Japanese company Yokogawa.
The dinner was concluded with a musical performance by the Japanese Chorus Sora, followed by a delicious dessert buffet and networking reception. Many thanks to all who joined this event and we hope to welcome you again next year!

It is our pleasure to announce that as of today, reservations are open for our biggest event of the year: the Dujat December Dinner, which will take place on Monday 9 December at the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Okura Amsterdam.
The annual Dujat December Dinner is a tradition that started back in 2003 and has proven to be a truly prestigious event for the Dutch and Japanese Business Community in The Netherlands. A festive ‘End-of-the-Year Party’ that could be a great networking opportunity for you, your colleagues and your business relations.
For this edition, we are honored to welcome three special guests to give a speech:
- Her Royal Highness Princess Laurentien of the Netherlands. She lived in Japan and has a special connection with the country. We are delighted that she will give a speech at the Dujat December Dinner.
- H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Minami, Ambassador of Japan to the Netherlands. For many years Dujat has a close relation with the Embassy of Japan, and we are pleased to give the floor to Ambassador Minami for a speech and a kampai.
- Mr. Boudewijn Siemons, CEO at the Port of Rotterdam. The Port of Rotterdam is the largest seaport in Europe, the world’s largest seaport outside of East Asia, and a valued member of Dujat. It is therefore our pleasure to announce Mr. Siemons as our keynote speaker, to give an update about developments at the Port of Rotterdam, with energy transition as one of the key topics.
Last but not least, of course there will also be a surprise entertainment performance.
