On Monday 20 January, Dujat members celebrated the start of 2025 together with a kampai and networking reception at the Amsterdam office of Loyens & Loeff. The year 2025 marks an important year, with the 425th Anniversary of Japan-Netherlands exchange, which began in 1600 with the arrival of the Dutch ship De Liefde in Kyushu. This year, Japan will also host the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, which will be visited by many Dutch delegations. It was our pleasure to start this special year with this reception, and we look forward to many more events to come.
We extend our special thanks to H.E. Mr. Hiroshi Minami, Ambassador of Japan for his speech and for presenting the commemorative logo for the 425th anniversary of Japan-Netherlands exchange in 2025. Also many thanks to Mr. Tjapko Poppens, Mayor of Amstelveen, for giving a speech at this reception, since Amstelveen is and will always be an important place for the Japanese community in the Netherlands. We also thank Mr. Naoto Miyamoto, Vice-Chairman of JCC, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Corporation Netherlands and Board Member of Dujat, for proposing a toast on behalf of the Japanese Chamber of Commerce in The Netherlands.
