POSTPONED: Dujat December Dinner

Dear friends of Dujat,

With deep regret we wish to inform you that we have reluctantly decided for the second year in a row to postpone the Dujat end-of-year dinner until December 2022. This difficult decision is based in part on the Covid-related government measures. In addition, we believe it would not be good practice at this sensitive time to organize such a major event with an attendance of more than 400 people.

We could not have anticipated that such a serious fourth wave would be coming our way. We were excited at the prospect of seeing all of you again in person at our annual dinner which as you know is Dujat’s main event. Unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control have led us to this decision, and we hope that you can concur with us that it was just the right thing to do.

We are considering other options and will keep you appraised as soon as the Covid situation will allow for it. In any event, you may expect a major event hopefully no later than by the spring of next year.

In the meantime, please note that we are still planning to have our New Year’s reception on January 24th of next year. More information will follow but for now, please keep this date –at least tentatively- in your agenda.

As to the financial aspects, since many of you have already made the payment, we will soon send you a separate email with all practical aspects. In essence, we will either reimburse you promptly, unless you prefer to use this payment as an advance to next year’s event.

We continue to face more than challenging times, but we are confident that we have the strength and means to overcome this pandemic. We at Dujat will continue to do our utmost to offer you various interesting and meaningful events in the months to come.

We would like to thank you for your understanding, and for your continuing support to what is a great organization.

With kind regards

Luc Houben                            Christa de Kemp-Everts

Chairman                                Managing Director

This event is completely sold out and it is no longer possible to reserve a seat or table.

We are very pleased to officially invite our members to participate in the festive end-of-the-year event: the Dujat December Dinner, which will take place on Monday 13 December at Hotel Okura Amsterdam. We will welcome you from 18:30 for an aperitif, the dinner will then start at 19:15 and ends at 21:45. After that you will be invited to the grand dessert buffet and networking reception until approx. 22:30.

The annual Dujat December Dinner is a tradition that started back in 2003 and has proven to be a truly prestigious event for the Dutch and Japanese Business Community in The Netherlands. A perfect ‘End-of-the-Year Party’ that could be a great networking opportunity for you and your business relations.

Unfortunately last year’s edition had to be canceled due to the corona pandemic. However in cooperation with Hotel Okura Amsterdam we will do our utmost to organize a safe and successful corona-proof Dujat Dinner for our members.

Of course with the important sidenote that we have no choice but to abide by the rules of the government as well as the house rules of Hotel Okura Amsterdam, so please be aware that even though it is our aim to organize this event, there is no 100% guarantee. Should the case be that we have to cancel the event again or limit participation after reservations opened, we will inform you accordingly, and will refund the paid participation fees as soon as possible.  A list of the already taken measures against the virus can be found further below.

During this year’s event, the 8th Deshima Netherlands Awards will be awarded to two of the most successful Japanese investors in The Netherlands. The awards will be presented by Ms. Hilde van der Meer, commissioner of Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency. Besides this ceremony, H.E. Mr. Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan to The Netherlands, and Ms. Hanne Buis, Chief Projects & Assets Officer (CPAO) of Royal Schiphol Group, will each give a short speech.

Measures against spread of COVID-19:

Unfortunately we cannot predict so far what the situation in December is going to be like. For now we inform of the following:

・Use of  CoronaCheck app requiring a negative PCR test or proof of vaccination at the registration desk.

Premium air ventilation at the hotel, as well as strict hygiene protocol.

・If the COVID-19 situation has not improved and the requirement for events is to keep 1.5 meters distance, we unfortunately have no choice but to cancel the event. Of course we will refund your costs for the couverts, and inform you of the new date of the dinner event next year.

For detailed and up to date information of the Okura measures against COVID-19, we refer to this page on their website. Of course we promise to keep you closely updated as much as we can.
