Please join us in welcoming Claartje to DUJAT

On behalf of the Board, I like to inform you that Ms. Claartje Bouwers will succeed Christa de Kemp as per October 1, 2026, after a transition period of about 3 months.

Some of you will know or remember Claartje as she has been on the Board and DMC of DUJAT, in the position of vice chairman, a few years ago.  During her law studies, Claartje gained international experience through an internship in Washington DC.  She started her career as an attorney in the Netherlands.  Thereafter she spent 13 years as general counsel and Executive at Mitsubishi Logisnext Europe B.V., where she developed a deep understanding of leadership and cross-cultural (including Japanese) business dynamics.
Throughout her career, Claartje has travelled extensively, including many visits to Japan.

Currently Claartje is active as an independent attorney and serves as a member of the Supervisory Board of Yamaha Motor Europe N.V.  In addition to her professional achievements, Claartje has a distinctive passion for ballet.  This dedication not only reflects her appreciation for art, but also underscores the discipline, focus and flexibility she brings to her work.

We considered that the combination of her personality, legal expertise, international networking experience and cultural affinity made her great for this assignment.

Under the leadership of Christa de Kemp, DUJAT has grown to a successful, solid and healthy organisation.  We are confident that Claartje, with the support of the Board, will continue the great work of Christa for Dujat -and its members- in its important mission to strengthen the relations between the Netherlands and Japan.

Please join us in welcoming Claartje to DUJAT.

Mr. L. Houben
Chairman Board DUJAT
