Maarten Leen studied Economics at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. He joined ING in 1995 and has held various positions since this time. He currently holds the position of Head of Macroeconomics in ING’s Economics Department. In this capacity he is carrying out research on the global business cycle and related movements in interest and exchange rates. Before joining ING, Maarten worked for a research unit at Rabobank/Robeco Group. Between 1986 and 1992, he was policy advisor to the Dutch minister of Finance. Maarten Leen began his career at the Central Bureau of Statistics in the Netherlands.
