Last week, the Dujat Trip to Japan could finally take place again after postponing it several times due to the pandemic. An overview of our activities in Japan can be found below.
Visit Daiwa House & Nara
We visited the impressive Daiwa House Laboratory and R&D center, and Kotokurie in Nara. The visit was combined with a short cultural trip to the Nara deer park.
Reception in Osaka
On Monday there was a reception in Osaka for the Dujat delegation and relations in the Kansai area. The reception was hosted by Mr. Marc Kuipers, Consul General in Osaka and took place at his residence.
Visit Kyocera & Ise
We were honored to be welcomed to the Tamaki Plant of KYOCERA Document Solutions. The factory is located in Ise, so we combined the visit with a cultural trip to the famous Ise Grand Shrine.
Visit Yokogawa
We had a really interesting tour at the HQ and Innovation Center of Yokogawa Electric Corporation in Tokyo.

AVB Meeting & Reception
The (usually) annual meeting with our Advisory Board in Japan, followed by a reception at the residence of the Ambassador of the Netherlands in Japan, H.E. Mr. Peter van der Vliet. We are grateful for the hospitality!
Legal and Tax Seminar
The “Legal and tax seminar on M&A investments into the Netherlands” which was hosted by Nishimura & Asahi in collaboration with Houthoff. More details here.
AgriFood Seminar
The AgriFood Seminar on “Strengthening the Dutch and Japanese Agrifood sectors”, which took place at AgVenture Lab in collaboration with Norinchukin Bank, the Embassy of the Netherlands in Japan, EY, Horizon, and Denso. More details here.
Dinner at The Place of Tokyo
The location was right beside the Tokyo Tower, which was the perfect spot for a good closure after the eventful week. Kampai!
Some additional meetings were also scheduled before and during the trip. Dujat Chairman Luc Houben and Managing Director Christa de Kemp left to Japan one week earlier and met with various relations.
Meeting and Dinner with Yakult Honsha
On Monday 8 May, Luc and Christa met with Mr. Hirano, Mr. Kawabata, Mr. Narita, Mr. Shimada, Mr. Uekusa and Mr. Oono of Yakult Honsha, and enjoyed a lovely dinner together.
Visit Chairman of the Dujat Advisory Board in Japan: Mr. Teiichi Goto
On Tuesday 9 May, Luc Houben and Christa de Kemp visited the Chairman of the Dujat Advisory Board in Japan: Mr. Teiichi Goto, who is President & CEO of FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation and President of the Japan-Netherlands Society. Mr. Teiichi Goto succeeded Mr. Shigetaka Komori as of July last year. Mr. Koichi Yoshida, Secretary-General of Japan-Netherlands Society, also joined the meeting. We look forward to our continued cooperation!
Lunch Meeting with Teijin Limited
As of 2022, Mr. Jun Suzuki, President and CEO of Teijin co. ltd., joined the Dujat Advisory Board, and this year we could finally meet again in person. It was a great honor that we could also meet with Mr. Akimoto Uchikawa, CEO of Teijin Limited. We look forward to our cooperation!
Reunion Dinner with friends in Tokyo
A warm reunion with many old friends who returned to Japan after their work in the Netherlands. Many thanks to Mishima-san for organizing this wonderful reunion dinner!
Dinner at Tsubo-niwa
Another warm reunion with Satomi-san and Takase-san who were once member of the board of Dujat. We had delicious dinner at Tsubo-niwa, the bar of Tamai-san.
Visit Ricoh
We are very pleased that Ricoh became a member of Dujat and that they were willing to welcome us with a small delegation at their HQ in Tokyo.
